veterinary telemedicineHi everyone! We want to thank those who have let us play a part in their pet’s recovery and return to function. I have found it most rewarding to help owners of overweight pets discover healthier feeding programs, learn to teach their dogs to play exercise games, and as the end product, enjoy a longer-lived and healthier companion.

It has been often requested that we offer a consultation option for pets that for various reasons can not come for weight loss evaluations or exercise sessions. A “telemedicine” as the humans call it, and we will soon begin to do just that. K9 Strong offers “Veterinary Telemedicine” consultations! There is an abundance of poor, bizarre, and downright dangerous advice on the internet and we would offer medically sound information that will result in healthy weight management. Just as with people, overweight dogs and cats are at risk for heart disease, inflammatory disease, early joint disease, and diabetes to name a few of the many complications. We have several articles on the website if you would like to read more about healthy weight management and why it is so important to a pet that you love: www.k9strong.org.

We also have a new veterinary technician that is able to visit the pet’s home for rehabilitation and conditioning needs after the pet has had a proper initial examination and a treatment plan has been developed. This service will be used primarily to conduct exercise sessions at the home, laser therapy, cryotherapy, electromagnetic field therapy, and generally checking in if the owners feel they need a review.

If there are other services you would like to see us add, I would love to hear your suggestions. We want to help you make your K9 strong! Thank you!
